Cancellation due to bad weather
If the cancellation be announced by the Management Board of Halong Bay, depend on the timing of the cancellation, following policies will be applied:
- Before departure from Hanoi to Halong Bay (none of the services has been used): 100% refund.
- During the trip (some services have been used: transfer, lunch, day trip, hotel in Halong, etc.): used services will be charged, the rest will be refunded.
- The trip be cut down from 2 nights to 1 night, tourists will be charged a 2 days/1 night trip, plus other used services, the rest will be refunded.

Morning
8:00 – 8:30: For customers who have made a reservation to use the shuttle transfer service between Hanoi and Ha Long Bay, a limousine will pick you up in the middle of the Hanoi Old Quarter.
NOTE: This picking-up service is excluded from the price, please choose the transfer option in the next booking step.
At 11:30, check-in procedures will be conducted in the lounge upon arrival at the Tuan Chau International Cruise Port. While you wait for the departure time to board the boat, tea is available for you to relish.
A warm welcome aboard the Orchid Cruise! To kick off your journey, make yourself at home in the cozy ambiance of the ship’s restaurant, where refreshing drinks are readily available.
Then sit back to relax and listen while the ship’s manager goes over the schedule and some of the safety rules.
Afternoon
During the cruise, guests can dine on delicious cuisine, that tantalizes the taste buds and celebrates the region’s flavors.
After the delightful meal, head to the Trung Trang Cave, between Cat Ba National Park and Kim Giao Forest. It possesses an enigmatic allure as a result of the geological tectonics that have occurred over the past two thousand years.
Subsequently, the journey leads you to the tranquil Tra Bau, nestled within the untouched expanse of Lan Ha Bay. Take this chance to swim around and immerse yourself in the refreshing embrace of Lan Ha Bay’s tranquil waters.
After a few hours of excitement, back aboard the cruise, you can unwind on the terrace, and partake in the Happy Hour program from 18:00 – 19:00, where you can buy one drink and get another free.
Otherwise, you can have fun participating in a Vietnamese cooking class hosted by an experienced chef.
Evening
Enjoy a delicious meal that fuses Asian and European influences. Each dish is meticulously crafted using only the finest and freshest ingredients.
Following the dinner is your free time. While relishing the mysterious beauty of the Bay at night, you can fish for squid, receive a massage, or watch a movie on the patio.
Use of the ship’s massage therapist is optional and can be scheduled around your preferences. Please contact the manager to book in advance.

Start your day with some Tai Chi on the patio and a deep breath of fresh air. To get the best shots of the sunrise across the bay, you should get up earlier to catch the best moment of Lan Ha Bay and marvel at the stunning seascapes.
The restaurant will provide a complimentary breakfast buffet, let’s come and enjoy it!
Following the delightful breakfast, kayaking around Frog Pond is an exceptional vantage to take in the resplendent beauty of Ha Long Bay.
As you navigate the tranquil waters, the awe-inspiring landscapes will leave an indelible mark on your memory.
Around 9:30, you’ll check out and settle up with the front desk, ensuring a smooth transition from the sea to the mainland.
After that, a delectable lunch will be served while the boat gracefully makes its way to the dock. You can relax on the patio or in your room to take in the sights and jot down your final thoughts on your adventure to Vietnam’s Northeast.
11:30: The ship has docked as our odyssey ends here and the car returns you to Hanoi. After around 3 hours, you’ll arrive at the hotel in the capital.

You might arrive at Tuan Chau International Cruise Port at 11:30, and process check-in before boarding the boat. Meanwhile, you’ll be treated to nice tea, allowing you to fuel your energy.
All aboard the Orchid Cruise! After checking in, you’ll have the opportunity to sample some of the ship’s culinary delights while listening to the captain go over the cruise’s itinerary and any necessary safety precautions.
Afternoon
Savor a leisurely lunch as your cruise sets sail to discover Ha Long Bay, one of the world’s seven natural wonders.
After the delicious meal, it’s time to visit the magnificent Trung Trang Cave between Cat Ba National Park and Kim Giao Forest. The cave stands as a living museum of time, history, and natural ingenuity, a place where the past and present converge in harmonious beauty.
The Orchid Cruise has now arrived in Tra Bau – a realm untouched by the hands of development. Here, you can take pleasure in swimming in water as green as an emerald.
When you return to the yacht, you can have Happy Hour beverages (buy one, get one free) at 18:00. Otherwise, under the expert guidance of our skilled chefs, you can delve into the secrets of crafting delectable Vietnamese dishes in the cooking class.

Embark on a day boat trip to Cat Ba Island. Our destination is Viet Hai Village, one of the most beautiful settlements in the world. Upon your arrival, you can either rent a bike or take a tram along the island’s shore. Here, you’ll get the opportunity to explore the daily lives of locals and immerse yourself in exotic cultures.
It’s time to head back to the day boat, where you may relax and eat lunch on the way back to Lan Ha Bay.
Afternoon
Subsequently, travel to Ba Trai Dao, a serene lake with beautiful scenery ideal for swimming or lounging on the beaches. These fascinating activities are promised to make your trip perfect.
As the sun begins to set, you must go back to Orchid Cruise. Unwind with a rooftop cookery class, take advantage of the Happy Hour program (Buy 1 – Get 1), and go on a photo taking as the sun sinks slowly into the Bay.
Evening
The skilled chefs at Orchid have prepared a delicious meal featuring a fusion of Asian and European cuisines using only the finest ingredients. Let’s come and enjoy!

After that, a buffet breakfast will be served to make your morning more fulfilling. Get ready for a trip to the Frog Pond, an essential excursion to fully immerse yourself in the mesmerizing beauty of Ha Long Bay.
You’ll get to go kayaking in the gorgeous, unspoiled natural region and witness the marvels that have captivated explorers for generations.
After a few hours of excitement, you return to the ship, settle up at the front desk, and proceed to check out around 9:30.
At 10:00, while making its way to the dock, the ship stops for lunch. Relax on the patio or in your room after lunch to take in the sights and jot down your final thoughts on your vacation to the Northeast of Vietnam.
You will arrive at Tuan Chau Pier around 11:30.The ship has docked, and it’s time to part ways. Spend some time refreshing and waiting for the transfer to Hanoi in 2.5 – 3 hours.

The sundeck deck provides the sky bar, the captain lounge, and ample outdoor space for guests to relax and sunbathe comfortably.

Located on the 2nd deck, the 35-seat restaurant, which is furnished fully wooden, makes the ambiance romantic. The food pick-up area is designed specifically for a row and specializes in serving buffets.
Outdoor Jacuzzi
At the boat’s bow, a round jacuzzi with 8 – 10 guests capacity on the second deck gives you a refreshing atmosphere and stunning views over the bay. It also has color-changing lights at the bottom, creating a pretty nightly sight.
Spa
A private spa area is arranged on the first deck for 2 guests each time, which supports professional wellness massage, exhilarating body therapy, facial care, and foot care. This spa also includes a small sauna area for guests to unwind.

The bus will conveniently collect you from your hotel in the Hanoi Old Quarter between 8:00 and 8:30. You will then be comfortably transported to Tuan Chau Port in Halong City by a 9 – 16-seat limousine.

If you are arranging your transportation, it is important to arrive at the designated waiting station (No. 32, Block 2, Tuan Chau International Port) for Orchid Cruise around 11:30.
By approximately 12:00, all guests will be transferred to the cruise via tender for a seamless embarkation process.

Facilities & Cabins: 9.2/10
The cruise line continuously updates its 5-star offerings with fully equipped amenities on board and stylishly designed cabins. My Premium Suite Balcony showcases modern decor and provides a spacious cabin size of 36m2, ideal for groups of two.
Pros
- Prettily decorated sky bar, making it a great place to take pictures.
- The jacuzzi located on the ship’s bow, is one of the best spots to enjoy the scenery and relax.
- The elegant wooden furnishings, exquisite wall art, and well-thought-out layout create a spacious and pleasant cabin area.
- Fairy large bathroom inside the cabin with clean sea-view bathtub.
Cons
- A limited area for mingling, lack of entertainment areas for nighttime activities.
- The wooden hallway shows its age and has a squeaky sound when walking by.
- The bathroom is separated by a blind only, so it was not private enough.

Orchid Cruise is well-suited for a wide range of guests due to its diverse culinary offerings, ranging from vegan options to international dishes. The decorations and service from the staff take the dining experience to the next level for me.

I thought the 2-day itinerary was well-designed to enjoy both Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba Island with various activities for a limited time. This is one of a few cruises that included Cat Ba Island in the 2-day itinerary.
Pros
- The moment I kayaked in the Dark & Bright Cave Area was amazing due to the magnificence of nature here.
- Exciting trips to Trung Trang Cave in Cat Ba Island. It has a unique structure with many spots for amazing photos.
- A variety of activities in many attractions even for a 2-day itinerary: kayaking in Dark & Bright Cave, swimming in Tra Bau, and visiting Trung Trang Cave.
Cons
- There are not many things to do at night, so active travelers may get bored.
